Pre-diploma in Early Childhood Development (ECD) Facilitation

(Apprenticeship Model)

Program Overview

This curricular program is designed by the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) to prepare middle-level competent human resources as Early Childhood Development Facilitators. Operating on a **Dual Training System (DTS)**, it combines institute-based learning with extensive hands-on industrial practice at child development centers, Montessori schools, and kindergartens. Graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and attitude required to provide quality services in the ECD sub-sector or pursue self-employment.

  • Coordinate and share reports to stakeholders based on evidence.

Entry Criteria

  • SEE with any GPA/Grade (since 2072 BS) or SLC Pass.
  • Nepali citizen above 16 years of age.
  • Physically sound.
  • Pass the entrance exam administered by CTEVT.
  • Pass the interview conducted jointly by industry and the training institute.

Evaluation & Grading

  • Pass Marks: 40% (Theory), 60% (Practical/Industrial).
  • Attendance: Min 80% (Theory) and 90% (Practical).
  • Distinction: 80% or above.
  • First Division: 75% to below 80%.
  • Evaluation includes three internal assessments and one final exam.

Career Path

Graduates are eligible for the position equivalent to **Non-gazetted 2nd class/level 4 (technical)** in government-related organizations as prescribed by the Public Service Commission of Nepal. They are qualified to work as ECD Facilitators in daycare centers, Montessori schools, kindergartens, and inclusive preschools, or work with international non-governmental organizations (INGOs/NGOs).
